Only two guys showed up today at 7:30 AM and worked until 4 PM. No work was done on the weekend. I compare that to the company working down the street that worked until 6 PM Friday and all day on Saturday.
They pretty much finished the front brickwork except for filling the gaps with sand, did a bit on the dog kennel and finished the side of the house.
There are now three days left before we leave for Halifax. I don't see how they can finish, but I guess they don't mind not getting paid until we get back.

This is almost done. Once they finish packing in the sand in the gaps, we can wash the stone off to bring out the natural colour. They still need to do all the garden areas, the sod, plant a tree, put in a mounting post for a new yard light, remove a couple of cedars in the hedge between out neighbours so they can build steps and an arbor. And they have to finish the kennel, lay patio stones on the other side of the house and fill it back with stone. I can't see how they can possibly get this all done in three days, but the owner says they can. Of course, he also promised they wouldn't leave the job once they started. |
