5 days late (24%)

We arrived home this morning expecting to see everything completed except for planting the shrubs, as the landscaper had promised. Needless to say, that wasn't what we found. But, it wasn't terrible.

We actually found the foreman and one other guy working when we got home. We said hello, but the foreman didn't seem to be too happy. Perhaps he didn't like working Saturday. They left shortly after we arrived.

The neighbor who was taking care of our home said they came out the Monday after we left for vacation to lay the sod. That would be the 15th, the latest date that this project should have been completed by.

This is what it's like now:

Front 1 You can see that the shrub beds have been sculpted and the sod laid. They were just inserting the mounting bracket for the lamp post into freshly poured concrete when we got home.
Front 2 Here you can see some of the stepping stones across the flower beds so that you can access the lawn area without walking all the way around.

Front 3

You can see the cedar arbour that was put in the hedge opening. The contract calls for the arbour to be mounted in concrete, but I don't see any sign of that.

The opening looks a bit ragged now, but hopefully it will fill in soon.

We still have to stain the arbour.

Here are a couple of pictures from the front. This will look really nice once the shrubs are in.

It's really sad looking at this dinky little pine tree compared to our old one that died this year that was three times higher. Sigh.

Front 4 Some posts were put in for the dog kennel, but they still have to do the fencing, gate install and finish laying the concrete. This all should have been finished before today.

The posts near the front are set in concrete. That's surprising because the foreman was discussing installing them temporarily in case they needed to be moved when we (hopefully) complete the back landscaping next year.

Note the post on the left at the front. It looks like they put the sonotube in the wrong position and the post is off to the left. So what happens when the cardboard sonotube deteriorates? There won't be much holding that post in place. This is quality work?

The post in the foreground with the plastic wrapping on it is temporarily mounted in crushed stone so that it can be removed next year to allow better access to the back. However, it too was installed incorrectly and the gate doesn't latch properly. Where is the pride in workmanship?
